Best Places to Work from in Phrom Phong
Phrom Phong is probably what you could consider the center of the Sukhumvit area in Bangkok, with three big malls (the “Em’s”) surrounding the BTS station. The Sukhumvit area is in itself a popular spot for all the digital nomads in Bangkok.
I often go to this area to either meet up with friends or work from one of the cafes or coworking spots.
Here are a few of my favourite working spots in Phrom Phong, Bangkok:
Sarnies Cafe Sukumvit
An all-time favourite of many digital nomads is this cafe and brunch spot located in a small side street close to the Phrom Phong BTS station. They serve excellent food and coffee, as well as some really decent pizzas!
I like to go early because around 9:30-10am more and more people start coming in and it can get a bit crowded/loud.
While it is slightly expensive in my opinion, here’s a pro-tip: if you get some merch from them (like a hat) and show it to them when you ask for the bill, you will get 15% off!
Open daily from 7AM - 10:30PM
IKEA Sukhumvit Cafetaria
Interestingly enough, the cafetaria at IKEA is quite a perfect place to get some work done. On top of a cozy environment, the internet is stable and there is cheap coffee and food! Obviously, you need to get the Swedish meatballs for lunch;)
Tip on how to best get there without going through the whole IKEA store: enter the EM Tower and go up the escalators until you reach the IKEA cafetaria. Unfortunately, you can’t exit the same way, so you will have to go through part of the store when you leave. However, it gives you the chance to buy some stuff that you still need for your home!
Open daily from 10AM - 9:30PM
BARTELS Sukhumvit
Bartels is one of my favourite spots to work from, especially in the mornings when there’s not so many people around. Around 10 or 11 it starts getting busier, with people going for brunch/lunch.
This cafe is also introvert-heaven because you don’t need to order at the counter - you can simply scan the code at your table, order and pay and someone will bring your coffee and food!
Open daily from 7AM -6PM
Luka Sukhumvit
Luka cafe is a lovely coffee and brunch spot which is also a great working spot during the week. Coffee and food is good and the wifi speed is excellent as well.
It can get quite crowded during the weekend as it’s a popular brunch spot, so I would stick to working from here during the week.
Open daily from 8AM - 11PM

SOCO Coworking
This coworking space is located on the top floor of the Emquartier mall.
The day pass price is 650 TBH (around 17 euros) and this also includes a drink (e.g. coffee or tea). It’s not the liveliest co- working space, so if you’re looking for more of a community then maybe it’s not the spot for you. However, it has a few phone booths, and you can also book a meeting room and the few times I was there it was pretty quiet, so for getting some focus work done, then this is a perfect spot.

Hario Cafe
I haven’t been here yet but it’s been on my list for a while! From the reviews, it seems it’s a great spot for specialty coffee, breakfast and to get some work done.
Open daily from 8AM - 5PM
Larder BKK
This place is specialised in charcuterie and sourdough bread, and they also have loads of pastries as well as good coffee. The wifi is really fast and there are also plenty of sockets available, so I would say it’s an excellent spot for some working.
The bread was truly delicious and I enjoyed the coffee as well. It is only a 8-10 minute walk from the Phrom Pong BTS stop.
Open daily from 7AM - 5PM
