Best Places to Work from in Thonglor, Bangkok
I’ve been living in the Thonglor area in Bangkok for a while and managed to discover a few cool spots to work from. There are a lot of remote workers/expats/digital nomads living in this neighbourhood, which is known for it’s trendy cafes, bars and restaurants.
Here’s just a few that I managed to find so far - I will definitely update the list as I discover more!
The Commons
It’s defined as a ‘community center’, with an open air space as well as indoor space. Actually, it becomes quite lively during the night as there are various restaurants and cafes but during the day, it’s actually a really good spot to work from with solid wifi.
They’ve also got a bunch of coffee/matcha spots and plenty of seating options as well as sockets.
Opening Hours: Open daily from 8AM - 1AM
The Office Thonglor
Another space with multiple restaurants and cafes is The Office Thonglor. They have a cafe with a cheeky name, CUM coffee, and there’s plenty of seats and tables to work from.
To be honest, it doesn’t really look like an ‘Office Space’ but it’s a cozy spot, and at night it transforms into a trendy spot for drinks and bites.
Opening Hours: Open daily from 8:30AM - 12AM
Paper Plane Project Coworking
This trendy coworking cafe is located on the 40th floor of a T-one building that you can find in just 5 minute walk from the Thonglor BTS stop.
Just order some drinks and/or food and you’ll get the wifi code for 4 hours. They also have meetings rooms and phone booths that you can use, and not to mention the stunning view over Bangkok from the 40th floor! In the evening there’s also a live DJ and you can order drinks and bites - nice way to end a (long) work day.
Do take your noise-cancelling headphones, because I think the music is a tad bit too loud.
Opening Hours: Open daily from 9AM - 1:30AM
OKONOMI Sukhumvit 38
I recently discovered this cafe and I actually loved it to get some work done! During the week, it’s really quiet, the coffee is good and they also have delicious Japanese lunch dishes. The wifi is good as well and it’s close to the Thonglor BTS stop.
The only downside is that it’s maybe a bit too expensive - then again, so are most spots in Thonglor 😅
Opening Hours: Open daily from 7AM - 7PM
Little Ghost Cafe
A cute little cafe with excellent coffee and decent wifi. It’s a cozy spot and I love the ambiance! It’s not very big however, so I do feel bad hogging a space for many hours to work. For a couple of focused work, however, it is perfect.
Opening Hours: Open daily from 7AM - 4PM (Fridays and Saturdays until 8PM) (Wednesdays closed)
Cone Number 9
Not sure if this cafe is already in Ekkamai and not Thonglor anymore, but I’ll add it to this list anyway. It’s a nice cafe tucked inside a quiet street. They also sell ceramics and do ceramic workshops!
I liked this cafe as it was quiet in the morning, the coffee was decent and they also had food.
Opening Hours: Open daily from 9AM - 6PM
