Bangkok is a popular digital nomad destination these days - there’s just so much to do, see, eat and experience!
Also for working, there is a myriad of options available. I’ve definitely not discovered them all yet, so this blog post only lists the one I’ve discovered until now.
Here’s my list of best places to work from in Bangkok, Thailand:
Quick links:
Paper Plane Project Coworking
This co-working cafe is located on the 40th floor of a very cool skyscraper in Thonglor, Bangkok and has incredible views on the Bangkok skyline. They have a big space with long tables and plenty of comfy chairs. The space itself is free to work from - to get the wifi password you do need to order some food or drinks, but then you have wifi for the whole day basically. You’re also not allowed to bring any outside food or drinks, which does make sense to me. They recently renovated the space as well, so it looks really stylish and modern now.
The coffee is actually pretty good, as they serve specialty coffee. The only thing may be that it’s slightly more expensive than elsewhere, but I guess that’s the premium to pay to work from here. There’s also a outside space (mostly for smokers) but it has a really cool view on the city. This is definitely one of my favourite places to work in Bangkok!
In the evenings, there’s also a DJ playing music and they serve drinks and food so it’s also a cool place to hang out in the evenings with some friends.
Opening Hours: Open daily from 9AM to 12AM

Sarnies Cafe Sukhumvit
Sarnies is one of my favourite cafes in Bangkok as they have delicious food and specialty coffee. Each cafe in Bangkok has kind of a different ‘theme’ and the one in Sukhumvit is a bit more Japanese themed, as they have matcha drinks and Japanese style breakfast items. I like this particular one as they have a second floor which is great for working. The internet is fast, the coffee amazing and the ambiance is minimalist and cozy.
Another Sarnies cafe called Sarnies Roastery in Lumphini is also really nice, but there’s less space to work and it can get quite busy.
Opening Hours: Open daily from 7AM to 10:30PM
The Commons in Thonglor
Another great spot to work from is The Commons in Thonglor. It’s hard to describe what it is exactly - it’s like a community space with loads of seatings, a small indoor food court, a few cafe’s as well as some boutique stores.
You can find indoor and outdoor seating and in general, it’s a really cool vibe. The internet is fast and stable, during the day it’s not too busy and you can get good coffee and food.
At night it turns into more of a social gathering place, where loads of people come to hang out with friends for drinks and food, and it’s another cool vibe! Definitely recommend having a visit to this place if you have the chance.
Opening Hours: Open daily from 8AM to 1AM (some restaurants don’t open until 12PM)
The 6th Floor at the Central Embassy Mall
On the 6th floor of this luxury mall in Bangkok lies an open concept bookstore filled with restaurants and cafes. There are lots of tables to work from, which you can use provided you get something to eat or drink from one of the cafes or restaurants located in the space.
It’s a really cool space and the library makes it super cozy and you can literally get anything from the different restaurants located on this floor (e.g. burgers, pizza, healthy food bowls, pastries, coffee etc). There are often loads of local students studying here as well.
The wifi is stable although not super fast (unless you have AIS as a phone provider, which means you can connect to their network).
Opening Hours: Open daily from 10AM - 10PM
Luka Sukhumvit
A great cafe for coffee, brunch and also to get some work done. I haven’t yet been here for doing work (just for brunch) but I’ve heard it’s also a decent spot to work from. I’ve seen quite a few people work from here as well when I was there.
It’s located in Phrom Pong, close to the Emsphere mall.
Opening Hours: Open daily from 8AM - 11PM
BARTELS Sukhumvit
We’ve actually discovered this cafe in Phuket and was delighted to see that they also have a location in Bangkok. They are famous for their sourdough bread and have a lot of sandwiches on the menu. Also the coffee game is pretty good.
There’s a seating area upstairs too, where you can get some work done. It’s probably not great to work from there the whole day but for a couple of hours it’s perfect.
Opening Hours: Open daily from 7AM to 6PM

SOCO WORK&LIVE
This is a coworking space located on the top floor of the Emquartier mall. The day pass price is 650 TBH (around 17 euros) and also includes a drink (e.g. coffee). It’s not the liveliest co- working space, so if you’re looking for more of a community then maybe it’s not the spot for you. However, it has a few phone booths, and you can also book a meeting room and the few time I was there it was pretty quiet, so if you’re looking to get some focus work done, then this might be the spot for you.
There’s also free drinking water and some small snacks available.
Opening Hours: Open daily from 9AM - 9PM
Toby's at Noble Play - Noble Ploenchit
This brunch cafe is located at the Phloen Chit metro stop. Other than serving delicious Australian brunch dishes and specialty coffee, this place is also a lovely spot to work from for a few hours. I wouldn’t hog a spot for the entire day but for a productive morning or afternoon session it’s a nice cafe to work from.
Opening Hours: Open daily from 8AM to 5PM
Cone Number 9
This hidden gem is located in the Ekkamai neighbourhood and tucked away in a small street. It’s a cafe as well as a ceramics store and workshop. You can even attend a pottery workshop.
On top of that, it’s a cool place to work from. It’s generally pretty quiet, and the wifi is decent (though not super fast). They also serve food and pastries and play some solid tunes.
Opening Hours: Open daily from 9AM - 6PM
Kaizen Coffee Ekamai
This cafe is located in Ekamai and serves specialty coffee and brunch dishes. I haven’t personally been here yet unfortunately but I have it on my list on possible places to work from in Bangkok.
In the reviews it says that in the upstairs area there is a big table that’s great to work from for a bit and that the wifi is fast and that there are plenty of charging outlets. So it definitely seems like a great place to work from!
Opening Hours: Open daily from 7:30AM to 4:30PM (except closed on Tuesdays)
