Where to Find the Best Coffee in Valencia, Spain

As Valencia is gaining more popularity with expats, tourists, and even digital nomads, the coffee scene has started to grow as well. More and more specialty coffee shops are opening up, which is great because I love myself some amazing coffee (I am a millennial after all..)So without further ado, here's a list of my favorite coffee places in Valencia:

FOUR Coffee

This is probably our favorite spot, that does not only have great coffee but also amazing food for breakfast and brunch! Definitely try their Eggs Benedict with roast beef and their brunch menu for two.

Location

Open everyday from 9:30am to 3:30pm (except Mondays closed)

Flying Bean

Another great coffee place is Flying Bean, located in the neighborhood of Jesus, close to the Joaquin Sorrolla train station. Not only do they serve great coffee, both espresso-based and filter coffees,It's also a great place to work from as they have a co-working space, so you can always bring your laptop as your coffee companion ;)

Location

Open daily from 8am to 7pm

Blackbird cafe

Coffee at Blackbird

My favorite coffee place by far, Blackbird cafe serves great coffee, but also amazing pastries and sweets. They are located in Ruzafa, just next to the neighborhood market. If you have a thing for cinnamon rolls, you definitely need to go here and try there famous brioche cinnamon bun, which my boyfriend has claimed to ' Bring world peace'. And I couldn't agree more!If you're not that into cinnamon buns (not sure if that's possible though) then there are loads of other pastries to choose from, and they are all equally exceptional. No laptops are allowed here during the weekend, but during the week you can sit at the big communal table and work from there.

Location

Open daily from  9am to 3pm (except Tuesdays closed)

Fav Coffee

Coffee at Fav Coffee in Valencia

Located in the city centre, this cute cafe makes great specialty coffee and they also serve light breakfast and some pastries. They use coffee beans from Hola coffee roaster in Madrid, which is one of my favorite roasters here in Spain. They also have a small terrace to enjoy the sun.

Location

Open daily from 8am to 8pm (except weekends, open at 10am)

Bruma

Bruma coffee

Update: Bruma is unfortunately temporarily closed.

This new take-away coffee spot just opened recently and is located bang in the city centre of Valencia. The owners are the same ones that own Four coffee. The coffee is delish and they also sell amazing pastries, such as pizza bagels, tiramisu rolls and much more. It's also a concept store, so take some time to browse their collection of cute gifts.

Location

Open daily (Opening hours still subject to change)

Fran Cafe

This little take-away coffee place is located in the heart of Ruzafa and serves some excellent coffee as well as an assortment of pastries.

Location

Open daily from 8am - 1pm and 3pm - 6pm

Los Picos

Los picos

Another great coffee place in Ruzafa is "Los Picos", close to the Central Park. They also serve delicious sandwiches; my favorite is the chicken sandwich. And don't get me started on the grilled cheese! They have a little terrace too, which is great for some people and dog watching.

Location

Open daily from 9:30am - 3pm (Mondays closed)

Tallat

If you find yourself by the beach in Cabanyal, you should definitely check out this specialty coffee place, which, according to my coffee loving boyfriend, is the best in town. Not only do they have lovely coffee, they also organize fun coffee tasting workshops, which are fun to try if you're into coffee and want to learn more about it.
